Command

The command task is used to execute an external application, and to wait for it to complete.

Task Mandatory? Usage
Command Y The name (and full path if needed) to the application to be executed
Params N Any Parameters needed for the application
Label N An optional label for this step
Action N An Action to be carried out in the event of this step failing (Action is only executed if the step fails)
Flag From Action The Flag to be set or unset if the Action requires it
Text From Action The text to be written to the console if the Action requires it

Example 1 – Launch an application and wait for it to complete

Example 2 – Launch an application (with parameters) and wait for it to complete

<step task="command" command="FetchHRData.exe" params="\program files\microsoft identity integration server\madata\hr"/>

Example 3 – Launch an application and wait for it to complete

<step task="command" command="CheckData.cmd" action="abort"/>
